Pura Palu’e (Indonesia) 2012 Ag 9 Tang, scarce

Pura Palu’e is an island in the Indian Ocean. According to the Blue Waters Mint it is a peaceful paradise of some 11,500 people that exist without any formal government. Though it has little need of money for many transactions, coins have proved useful in stores when purchasing goods brought from off the island, such as salt, kerosene, batteries and cloth. In 2012 a silver 9 Tang coin was issued. One side of the coins depicts the face of a fierce man-god. The other side has the name of the country, denomination and date. The Tang was based on a denomination that was introduced in the Dutch East Indies in the 17th century, but was never widely accepted. The silver 9 Tang is 21mm in diameter, contains 1/10 troy ounce of .999 fine silver and is Brilliant Uncirculated. Only 360 pieces minted
